Rivalry, an online sports betting and media company, held its annual general and special meeting of shareholders on 28 June 2023, where it decided on the new directors of the company.
The original list of shortlisted nominees was announced back on 29 May 2023 and published as part of Rivarly’s management information.
Following a discussion at the meeting, it was decided that Steven Isenberg, Stephen Rigby, Steven Salz, Kirstine Stewart, Ryan White and Kevin Wimer would be elected as directors of the company.
Steven Salz, Co-Founder and CEO, started his career in Major League Gaming before transitioning to finance and equity in 2012.
Steven Isenberg, Co-Founder of the company, has over 25 years of experience in the Canadian capital markets.
Stephen Rigby has held several executive positions prior to this role, including the President and CEO of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) and as the National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of Canada.
Kirstine Stewart was the Head of Canada’s CBC network, before transitioning to the VP of North American Media at Twitter and later becoming the Head of the Future of Media at the World Economic Forum (WEF).
Ryan White, Co-Founder and CTO, was previously the Head of Interactive Dev for Idea Couture.
Kevin Wimer, Co-Founder and COO, was in the top 10 worldwide in StarCraft in the early 2000s and has since launched a number of internet companies.
Shareholders at Rivalry also appointed Macias Gini & O’Connell LLP to once again serve as auditors of the company.
At the end of May, Rivalry launched its esports betting app in Ontario, which included betting options for League of Legends, Valorant and Counter-Strike.
