UK-based operator Betfred has made a donation of £84,000 ($106,759) to its charity partner, Prostate Cancer UK.

Betfred pledged that every eagle made during the Betfred British Masters means £500 will be donated. A further £500 was given for every successful drive to the green on the Belfry’s 10th hole.

Betfred also promised a £50,000 donation for any hole-in-one made on the 14th hole at the Brabazon Golf Court, which was previously done by Sir Nick Faldo in 1993.

This year, it was matched by Matthew Baldwin, which increased the money being donated to £75,000 with a day left of the tournament.

A total of 42 eagles or better were made through the four rounds, adding an extra £21,000 to the total donated.

Over the last three editions of the Betfred British Masters at The Belfry, almost £200,000 has now been raised for Prostate Cancer UK.

Laura Kerby, CEO of Prostate Cancer UK, said: “It was an unforgettable week at the Betfred British Masters hosted by Sir Nick Faldo.

“From Matt Baldwin’s incredible life-changing hole-in-one, to players and personalities wearing our Man of Men badge and supporters flocking to the event village to take on our Long Putt Challenge, talking to our volunteers and perhaps having a portion of Faldo’s Fish and Chips we’re proud to have been a big part of such an iconic event.”

Fred Done, Owner of Betfred, commented: “It’s not only what we’ve raised, it’s letting people know they should get checked; bringing awareness of Prostate Cancer. I’m very pleased with that (£84,000 donation), but promoting it is as important as giving the money.”
