Simon Fothergill becomes San Manuel CITO

The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians has announced Simon Fothergill as its new Chief Information and Technology Officer (CITO)

Fothergill will report to Chief People & Infrastructure Officer Brigitte Saria. As CITO, his role will be to oversee the development, growth and strategic execution of the technology roadmap for gaming, hospitality, entertainment and the Tribe’s future business endeavours.

The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians is a federally recognised Indian tribe located on the San Manuel Indian Reservation in California. 

Fothergill said: “It’s an honour to be given this responsibility and an exciting opportunity to be tasked with executing the Tribe’s vision.”

Saria said: “We are very proud of Simon’s achievements. Simon has successfully driven numerous IT initiatives at a critical period of growth for the Tribe. We are thrilled to have him joining our senior leadership team.”

Fothergill joined San Manuel in 2019 as VP of Information Technology Business Services. In this role, his responsibilities included identifying talent, innovative technology, products and systems in preparation for the opening of Yaamava’ Resort & Casino at San Manuel. Fothergill also helped establish the framework for IT support of Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

This year, San Manuel acquired an ownership interest in Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club in Dana Point, California. SMIA has a roughly 40% ownership interest in the resort which is one of Southern California’s luxury resort destinations.
