Continent 8 Technologies, a hosting, connectivity, cloud and security company that specialises in gaming, has added North Carolina as its newest state launch.

This comes before early 2024, when North Carolina will first permit legal online sports betting.

In June, Governor Roy Cooper signed House Bill 347 into law, allowing up to 12 sportsbook operators – in addition to the three land-based tribal sportsbooks already allowed under the law – to provide online and mobile betting to gamers in the Old North State.

Continent 8 has adopted a strategy across North America and is currently operational in 27 states. This is done to ensure its customers can go live immediately.

Furthermore, operators in North Carolina will have access to all of Continent 8's solution.

Justin Cosnett, Chief Product Officer at Continent 8 Technologies, said: “We have been aggressive with our first-to-market approach in the US because it’s vital that operators can access the infrastructure solutions, they need ahead of markets opening so that they are good to go from day one.”

Nick Nally, CRO at Continent 8 Technologies, said: “North Carolina will be a significant online sports betting market and is one that we know our customers have set their sights on.

"We can now offer our suite of iGaming hosting, connectivity, cloud and security solutions to these operators who can be confident they are fully compliant with the requirements set by the regulator.”
