Catena Media, an affiliate marketing company, has appointed Pierre Cadena as VP of Corporate Strategy.

The appointment is scheduled to take effect on November 1, 2023, with Cadena to be based in the United States, where he currently resides.

Prior to joining Catena Media, he served as the SVP and head of Revenue & Strategy for TMZ, a news and entertainment brand under Fox Entertainment.

During his tenure at Fox Entertainment, Cadena played a role in the strategic direction of TMZ's digital, television, originals and experiential businesses. He also possesses experience in the online sports betting and gaming affiliation sector, having served as a non-executive director at Raketech.

Before his role at Fox Entertainment, Cadena held the position of SVP and Chief Strategy Officer at Crunchyroll. He has also held various senior strategy and corporate development roles at companies such as WarnerMedia, Otter Media and Caesars Entertainment.

Cadena's earlier career experiences include work in investment banking and private equity investing. He holds an MBA from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Catena Media's CEO, Michael Daly, said: "We’re excited to welcome Pierre to Catena Media. His extensive expertise in strategic planning and executing growth for digital media and gaming companies will be a valuable asset for us and enable Pierre to play a core leadership role in our continued evolution in North America and beyond."

This announcement comes on the heels of several noteworthy developments within Catena Media in recent months. In August 2023, the company reported a Q2 loss in revenue, citing a 16% decrease compared to the same period in 2022.

The loss was part of Catena Media's strategy to focus more on the North American online sportsbook and casino affiliation market, as outlined by CEO Michael Daly.
