In a strategic move to enhance vigilance within the gambling industry, the Gambling Commission has introduced an online reporting service: "Tell us something in confidence."

This service is designed to streamline the process of reporting criminal and suspicious activities anonymously through a user-friendly online platform.

Users of the ‘Tell us something in confidence’ service can now discreetly report various concerns, including but not limited to match-fixing and sports betting integrity, underage gambling, money laundering suspicions, as well as any observed unlicensed gambling or criminal activities. The service acts as a comprehensive one-stop solution, enabling individuals to anonymously upload supporting materials such as photographs and documents to substantiate their reports.

This platform also facilitates additional means of communication, allowing users to submit further information via email or traditional mail. An optional provision enables users to share their contact information if they wish to be contacted regarding the details they provide.

The ‘Tell us something in confidence service’ is not limited to specific types of information. It serves as a versatile tool for reporting any data perceived to be related to criminal activities under the Gambling Act 2005 or any other information deemed valuable from a regulatory perspective by the Commission.

It's important to note that the service is primarily intended for signaling criminal and suspicious activities. Individuals looking to file complaints against gambling businesses are directed to follow the outlined process on the Commission's dedicated "How to complain" webpage.

While the new online reporting service represents a step forward in embracing technology for confidential reporting, the Commission emphasises that its confidential telephone service, allowing anonymous reporting of criminal or suspicious activities, will continue to operate as usual. This dual approach aims to provide the public with diverse channels to contribute to the integrity of the gambling industry, ensuring a secure and responsible gaming environment for all.
