The first-ever women-only poker festival in Europe, Queens of Tallinn 2023, witnessed Lithuanian player Marta Porter emerge victorious in the €350 ($377) buy-in main tournament.

Organised by OlyBet, the Queens of Tallinn festival drew over 150 players from 15 different countries. Over four days, the festival hosted eleven events, with 10 exclusively catering to female poker enthusiasts.

The pinnacle, a three-day main tournament, culminated with 65 buy-ins and a €19,246 prize pool, distributing rewards among eight finalists.

The clear leader from the tournament's outset, Porter maintained her dominance, claiming victory and earning €6,167. Müür secured second spot with a prize of €4,050, while Lithuania's Indre Martoviciute clinched third position, walking away with €2,740.

The festival also hosted the Ladies and Gentlemen tournament, open to both genders, saw Imre Leibold, an experienced Estonian tournament player, emerge victorious.

Christer Larsson, OlyBet Group Poker Director, said: With the first women's poker festival, we wanted to give women more opportunities to test themselves in a competitive situation against other female players. We are delighted with the positive feedback from so many women."

The rise in female poker players has been a recent trend, as indicated by research collaborations between PR firm Hatch and 888poker, revealing a notable 22% increase in female poker players across Britain in 2022.

Recently, OlyBet extended its collaboration with Euroleague Basketball, becoming the Premium Partner for the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and the BKT EuroCup until the 2024-25 season.
