Penn Entertainment will hold a groundbreaking ceremony today.
The celebrations will start at 2pm PST/10pm GMT at the M Resort location in Henderson, Las Vegas.
As part of a $206m expansion project, Penn Entertainment will build a second hotel tower.
The new construction will add 384 rooms and suites, which will raise the total at the property to 774.
In addition, a new conference meeting area will be added, as well amenity areas updated.
Jay Snowden, Penn Entertainment CEO and President, said: “We can’t wait to begin construction on a second hotel tower at M Resort.
“This new addition will benefit from the strong demand of the Henderson locals market while providing much-needed additional room capacity for group business that is drawn to our market-leading resort and amenities, including our highly successful partnership with the Las Vegas Raiders.”
This is the latest development in the major expansion project from Penn Entertainment, which encompasses four different properties in Illinois, Ohio, Aurora and Joliet.
The total cost of the project has been estimated to cost $850m, although Gaming and Leisure Properties has pledged $575m and the City of Aurora will cover $50m for its specific property.
Hussain Mahrous, M Resort VP and GM, said: “We are thrilled to be celebrating this day with our team members and key stakeholders.
"We look forward to hiring new team members and expanding the wonderful offerings that make M Resort a premier destination for visitors and convention attendees from across the country.”
Only a few weeks ago, Penn Entertainment held a groundbreaking ceremony for Hollywood Casino Columbus.
