Thunderpick has announced its latest $1m Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) tournament.

The Thunderpick World Championship 2024 will run from 1 April, with the finals taking place at the end of October.

As many of the teams are international, Thunderpick will host remote six qualifier rounds across three different global regions; Europe, North America and South America.

Kelly Sanders, Thunderpick Head of Strategy, said: "The Thunderpick World Championship 2024 will be one of the most exciting tournaments of the year, featuring some of the top talent in the world of CS2.

“We are thrilled to offer a prize that is almost double the amount of our 2023 record-setting $600,000 Bitcoin pool, and this time in cold hard cash.

"This tournament not only underscores our dedication to the diverse and growing esports community but also marks a new milestone in our event series.”

As part of this, Thunderpick also renewed its deal with Grid, which will act as its official esports services provider and data partner.

Grid will facilitate tournament tools and data visualisation features, as well as an automated infrastructure and turnkey solutions.

Fabian Logemann, Grid Head of Tournament Operations, said: "Thunderpick has significantly contributed to growing the sustainability of the CS2 esports scene and we're proud to support this tournament with the Grid Esports Solutions.

"Our team is looking forward to supporting this world-class CS2 championship series again, providing tournament services and important data points behind every incredible play to come."

One of the teams expected to make an appearance is Natus Vincere, which recently renewed its partnership with GG.Bet ahead of the Intel Extreme Masters Katowice tournament.
