Changes have been made to the executive and board structure at International Game Technology’s (IGT) PlayDigital, with Enrico Drago stepping down as CEO and moving to the Board of Directors.
Drago will remain at the company, taking over as a Non-Executive Director of the IGT Board of Directors. Meanwhile, Marco Drago is set to step down from his role at the board after completing his remaining term – ending on 14 May. It has further been announced that Gil Rotem is to extend his role as President of IGT PlayDigital.
Rotem has been with the company since 2021, when he assumed the role of President of iGaming after ending a 15-year tenure at bet365. During his time with IGT, his notable achievements include the negotiation and acquisition of iSoftBet – as well as helping to expand the company’s gaming portfolio.
Current CEO Enrico Drago spoke out on his decision to step down from the position, moving to the Board of Directors, saying, “Over the last five-plus years, IGT PlayDigital has established leadership positions in the global iGaming and North American sports betting sectors that will be foundational to the company's future success.
"I think that the entire IGT PlayDigital team for all that we have accomplished in this time, and I look forward to supporting IGT in a new capacity and further helping the Company define its vision and strategy.”
After striking multiple deals in North America last year, IGT PlayDigital turned its attention back towards Europe earlier this month – partnering with NetBet in Denmark.
