William Hill has created a 3D projection on Liverpool landmark St Johns Beacon this week as it looks ahead to the Grand National.

On the 457ft tower, the visuals tell the story of the Grand National with famous stories and some of the most iconic personnel associated with the race.

Famous fences and legends of the Grand National feature in the film, with footage of historic races and commentary.

The film debuted on Wednesday evening and will be present on Thursday and Friday evening likewise, as anticipation grows ahead of Saturday’s race.

Even those who are unable to view the film in person will be able to see it through William Hill’s social media channels, with support from William Hill ambassadors, such as Barry Geraghty, Lucinda Russell, Sir AP McCoy, Leonna Mayor, among others.

William Hill Ambassador Sir AP McCoy said: “Winning the Grand National is any jockey’s dream and I was very lucky to do that in 2010 on Don’t Push It. I’ve seen re-runs of the race over the years, but never like this.

“William Hill has done an amazing job capturing the spectacle that the Grand National is and what it means to the city of Liverpool. It’s a brilliant visual and it really builds anticipation for this year’s race.”

William Hill’s Racing Sponsorship Manager Mark Walton added: “The Grand National is one of the most famous races in the world, and we wanted to make something truly stand-out that lights up Liverpool as the nation gears up to be Grand National ready.

“By combining state-of-the-art technology with a stunning short film encapsulating everything that makes the Grand National so unique, we are proud as the event’s official betting partner to say we have lit up Liverpool as the nation gears up to be Grand National ready."

In recent weeks, over 50 MPs from the UK Parliament took part in a charity event organised by the Betting and Gaming Council (BGC), placing bets on the Grand National, with all winnings going to a charity of the MP’s choice.
