The Star Entertainment Group has announced the appointment of a new Chief Operating Officer (COO) in Jeannie Mok, who will begin her new role on 11 June.
Mok is set to move on from her most recent position as Chief Transformation Officer at Crown Resorts, where she was tasked with supervising the implementation of culture and governance – as well as launching the company’s transformation strategy. Throughout her career, Mok has obtained over 20 years of senior leadership experience which she will now bring to her new role at the Star.
Speaking on Mok’s appointment as COO was Star Chairman Anne Ward, who said: “I am delighted to welcome Jeannie to the team as Group Chief Operating Officer. We are at a pivotal point in our company’s history and Jeannie’s appointment strengthens our leadership team as we focus on implementing the necessary reforms at The Star.
“Jeannie’s strong leadership skills and highly relevant experience within the industry will be significant assets to our ongoing program of change. We are focused on driving sustainable improvements at The Star and fostering a culture of positive transformation at all levels of the organisation.”
Anne Ward succeeded former Chair David Foster at the end of April in another development that marks a period of reshuffling for the group, with this move coming a month after it was announced that Robbie Cook (ex-CEO) and Christina Katsibouba (ex-CFO) would both be stepping down.
This was then followed by Star Gold Coast CEO, Jessica Mellor, handing in her resignation last month. The group will hope Mok’s appointment will usher in a new period of stability as we approach the mid-point of the calendar year.
