Panel: Very few examples of true omnichannel gambling today

NYCE International MD Harmen Brenninkmeijer moderated a SiGMA Manila 2024 panel that was... pragmatic... in its assessment of the state of land-based and online convergence within the current market.

Panel: Very few examples of true omnichannel gambling today

The industry is full of positive discussion with regards to omnichannel gaming. We often hear of the benefits of omnichannel, its overall potential and specific examples where it can be useful.

But what about actual existing and successful examples in today’s market?

According to a panel of experts at SiGMA Manila, the Philippines tradeshow tailored towards the Asian market, not many exist…

Kurt Quartier, President of Tyche Gaming International, told the audience: “There are few true examples of omnichannel,” with Joe Pisano, Jade Group CEO, agreeing: “Everything should be integrated, wallet, slots etc – and we don’t see that today.”

On the flip side, however, the duo did provide examples of land-based casinos actually benefitting from iGaming.

While Angel Sueiro, PH Resorts COO, remarked that iGaming represents “opportunity not cannibalisation,” Pisano added that online is “enhancing foot traffic to casinos” – using Caesars as a case study.

Quartier, meanwhile, explained that the most popular online products are based off of “old-fashioned land-based games.”

The ingredients do, therefore, exist in today’s market. But the panel, rounded off by Yo-Sien Low of Moloco Singapore, was in unanimous agreement that gaming has a long way to go before we see true omnichannel in action.
