Century Entertainment International plans to start the operations of its VIP rooms in Dara Sakor by “early September, generating revenue before the end of 2024.” This “anticipated steady stream of revenue” would contribute to the group’s financial performance and market position.
This is the latest update provided by the group. Wisdom Ocean Group, subsidiary of the Hong Kong-listed group, has been in charge of the talks with Cambodian company LongBay Entertainment in regards to the operation of VIP Rooms in the Dara Sakor casino.
The agreement will have Century, through Wisdom Ocean, managing all seven tables (in the 650-square-metre space) at the Dara Sakor casino for an initial period of three years; paying a $35,000 monthly rent to LongBay; and being “entitled to 100% house winnings and will bear 100% house losses, as well as the associated staff costs and taxes.”
As detailed in a previous report, the Dara Sakor casino in Cambodia features about 40 mass gaming tables, 55 VIP tables and 80 slot machines, along with a Chinese restaurant, spa and nightclub.
Century Entertainment’s plans had already been ongoing since 2023, starting with a deal with the company’s then-CEO, in which it was later cancelled and renewed under the current subsidiary.
The relocation of its business from Sihanoukville to Dara Sakor was already made in 2021. Cambodia’s new directive in combating illegal gambling in early 2024 was also mentioned in the group’s report explaining its decision and plans for Dara Sakor.
