BetMGM launches mobile sports betting app across Washington, DC

BetMGM has launched its mobile sports betting app across Washington DC. Previously limited to a two-block radius around Nationals Park, the app is now accessible district-wide. This expansion follows the DC Council’s approval of the FY2025 budget, which included provisions to open the digital sports betting market.
BetMGM retains exclusivity within the two-block radius surrounding Nationals Park, where it operates a sportsbook in partnership with the Washington Nationals. The company’s app integrates with MGM Resorts and Marriott Bonvoy rewards programs, allowing users to redeem gameplay for experiences at various properties.
The launch extends BetMGM’s operations in the DMV region, where it already operates in Maryland and Virginia. BetMGM’s expansion is expected to generate economic benefits for the area through job creation and tax revenue.
The company has invested in local community programs, including the National Cherry Blossom Festival and the Capitol Riverfront Friday Night Concert Series.
The BetMGM app is available for download on both iOS and Android platforms, as well as via desktop. New customers can receive a first bet offer, while existing users can check the app for available promotions.
Earlier this month, BetMGM entered into a partnership with Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur, becoming the official betting partner and featuring its logo on the club’s training kit. This agreement aims to strengthen BetMGM’s presence in the UK market and promote responsible gaming practices.
