Internet Vikings, a licensed cloud hosting provider, has expanded its partnership with EveryMatrix, a technology provider for iGaming solutions, to enhance data redundancy and meet regulatory requirements in West Virginia.
This collaboration involves using Internet Vikings' secondary data centre in the state, which will provide EveryMatrix with a geographically separate site to ensure continuous service, in compliance with West Virginia's regulations for iGaming companies.
West Virginia requires iGaming operators to maintain a physically separate and redundant data centre to guarantee service continuity. This regulation aims to safeguard against disruptions, such as those caused by cyberattacks or technical failures, by ensuring that a backup system is in place.
EveryMatrix will use Internet Vikings' disaster recovery capabilities in hopes of maintaining high availability and service reliability for its users.
Internet Vikings recognised the need for a secondary data centre in West Virginia in 2023 to address the increased risks associated with ransomware attacks. This initiative was the first in the state to offer physical redundancy for iGaming operators. The expansion of the partnership with EveryMatrix highlights the importance of compliance with disaster recovery mandates as a critical aspect of operations in West Virginia.
In June 2024, Internet Vikings extended its partnership with PlayAGS, continuing to offer hosting services for iGaming and online sports betting.
Additionally, the company obtained a licence in Connecticut earlier this year, increasing its presence to 24 states. Internet Vikings also expanded its operations in Pennsylvania by securing an interim authorisation for iGaming and a sports wagering manufacturer licence.
