Sports betting operator Fanatics has launched in the state of Louisiana.
As part of an agreement with Boomtown Casino and Hotel, bettors living in Louisiana can now download the Fanatics Sportsbook.
Previously in Louisiana, the sportsbook industry displayed noteworthy figures in May 2024 data in both mobile and retail segments.
Recently, Fanatics Sportsbook and Casino launched in New Jersey.
In addition, the sportsbook is now available to customers in 22 states such as Arizona, Ohio and New York, and is available to almost 95% of the addressable online sports bettor market in the US.
There are many new features of the sportsbook. For example: FanCash, Expanding Streaming, Discover, Search and Your Place for Parlays.
Fanatics has been making moves in the US market since acquiring PointsBet US, an acquisition that was only finalised earlier this year.
It remains to be seen, though, just how well the sports merchandising company can adapt to online sports betting.
Early indications are promising in terms of overtaking the challenge brands. But competing with the likes of FanDuel and DraftKings? There is, naturally, a long way to go here.
Generally, it has been fair to group FanDuel and DraftKings as market leaders of late, with BetMGM and Caesars following as land-based specialists who are now established challengers within the mobile market.
Fanatics and ESPN Bet perhaps form a third group of newer brands backed by large organisations, while bet365 continues to steadily grow in the US, with many expecting that particular betting giant to end up alongside the likes of FanDuel and DraftKings.
