Thumba, a new fantasy sports platform launching on Telegram, offers quick team building with a swipe interface and daily tournaments.

Thumba launches fantasy sports platform on Telegram

Thumba is preparing for its launch on Telegram, aiming to offer a simplified approach to building fantasy sports teams.

The platform introduces a swipe-based interface where users can make quick selections of players, allowing users to predict which player will perform better in upcoming matches.

Thumba’s design reportedly hopes to focus on ease of use, with a swipe-to-select feature that allows players to form fantasy teams quickly.

The platform is intended for both experienced fantasy sports users and newcomers, offering daily tournaments instead of season-long commitments.

This daily structure lets users refresh their lineups regularly, without concerns about long-term injuries or inconsistent player performance. Player selections are made by swiping left or right and teams are built in just a few minutes.

Users will be able to make “Messi or Ronaldo” predictions, which allows users to engage in one of football’s biggest ongoing debates by selecting which of the two players they believe will outperform the other. This prediction feature is paired with real-time statistics, showing the percentage of users who have backed each player.

Thumba offers both free participation and the option for users to add financial stakes to their predictions. Payments can be made using Telegram’s cryptocurrency, TON (The Open Network), or through other methods like Apple Pay and Google Pay. The platform also plans to expand its payment options to support additional cryptocurrencies in the future.

Available exclusively on Telegram, which boasts over a billion users, Thumba will take advantage of the app’s social features, allowing users to connect, share strategies and keep up with tournament results.

Thumba’s launch comes as competition in the fantasy sports market intensifies. Other platforms, such as Wanna.com, have recently expanded its offerings with the introduction of the Wanna Parlay app, while GameOn launched its Live Fantasy platform ahead of UEFA Euro 2024.
