Xace has announced the appointment of Reuben Abela as the new CEO of its European Division.

The appointment hopes to mark a step forward in Xace's global expansion plans – with a focus on enhancing its presence across Europe and delivering payment solutions to underserved markets.

Abela, formerly COO of Lidion Bank, brings over 15 years of experience in financial management and operations to his new role.

His background in both iGaming and banking hopes to position him as a strong candidate to lead Xace's growth initiatives.

Commenting on Abela’s appointment to the role, David Hodkinson, Group CEO of Xace, stated: “I am delighted Reuben is joining Xace, bringing his extensive knowledge and experience.

“His appointment is a key part of our strategy to grow our presence globally and enhance the services we provide to our clients.”

Abela himself added: "I am honoured to join Xace. I’ve been following the company’s impressive growth journey with genuine admiration, and I am grateful to be given the opportunity to be part of its team.

“I look forward to building on the firm’s strong foundation and driving its expansion, delivering innovative banking solutions to an ever-growing client base.”

Abela has assumed his new role with immediate effect, operating from Xace Malta's headquarters.

In related news, Xace recently secured its licence from the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) – a move that allows Xace to provide its services to iGaming companies across the European markets.
