Key points:
- Atlas World Sports acquires Lockspread to expand its fantasy sports platform
- Lockspread operates in 23 states and has seen growth through strategic campaigns
- Integration aims to provide users with expanded DFS and sportsbook features
Atlas World Sports has acquired the daily fantasy sports (DFS) platform Lockspread.com, a move aimed at broadening its offerings in the sports betting and fantasy sports markets.
Lockspread, which operates in 23 states, will integrate its DFS services with Atlas World Sports’ existing platform, adding new functionalities for users.
Lockspread has built its user base through data-driven advertising and media partnerships. This acquisition marks a key step for Atlas World Sports as it looks to strengthen its position in both the sports betting and fantasy sports sectors.
With Lockspread’s DFS platform integrated, users will reportedly have access to a wider range of DFS formats, alongside Atlas World Sports’ sportsbook offerings, which aggregate multiple sportsbook options and odds into one platform.
This addition is expected to enhance the user experience by providing more betting options and real-time data tools.
Good to know: The relaunch and integration of Lockspread into the Atlas application is expected to be completed in early 2025, with Kevin Koeppel leading the new fantasy sports division
Lockspread’s growth comes at a time when other companies, such as Wanna.com, are also expanding their DFS offerings. In September 2024, Wanna.com launched Wanna Parlay, a customisable DFS app that allows users to compete in parlay contests for cash prizes.
