Aristidis Tsikouras, CEO of money management specialist GeWeTe, has achieved a significant career milestone, celebrating 25 years of service with the Merkur Group.
Beginning his career in 1999 as a field sales representative for Merkur, the now 52-year-old quickly established himself as an asset to the company.
His trajectory included several key positions, including head of sales at GeWeTe Geldwechsel und Sicherheitstechnik in 2003, where he managed project operations, sales and trade fair activities.
Following appointments to positions of increasing responsibility – including receiving general commercial power of representation in 2006 and joining executive management in 2008 – Tsikouras assumed the role of sole Managing Director in 2019.
Under his leadership, GeWeTe has achieved market leadership in Germany and successfully expanded into international markets, including an entry into the US market.
Commenting on his career journey, Tsikouras stated: “I have always felt a great sense of trust at the Merkur Group. Early on, I was given the opportunity to take responsibility for staff and to run a company. For that, I am very grateful.
“Enjoying my work has always been important to me – and I still enjoy it as much as I did 25 years ago.
“The Management Board and entrepreneurial family have always given me encouragement and support. I would also like to thank my GeWeTe colleagues at home and abroad, who have been doing great work for decades.”
In related news, it was recently announced that Merkur Group’s Founder, Paul Gauselmann, is stepping down as Chairman of the Management Board after leading the company for 67 years. Lars Felderhoff, who has served as the company’s CFO since 2018, is taking over the role.
