Key points:
- Alea, an iGaming aggregator, has partnered with Continent 8 for cybersecurity assessment services
- Continent 8’s Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) aims to help identify and address potential security risks
- Alea’s platform connects B2C operators to a wide network of games via a single API
Alea has appointed Continent 8 Technologies to perform Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) on its systems.
This move aims to strengthen Alea’s cybersecurity by identifying and addressing possible vulnerabilities as the platform scales to accommodate a growing network of gaming providers and operators.
Alea provides business-to-consumer (B2C) operators with access to over 15,000 games from more than 150 game providers through a single API integration.
The platform’s expansion has created a need for enhanced security measures to protect its connections and ensure operational stability.
By utilising VAPT services from Continent 8, Alea intends to evaluate both internal and external risks to its systems, prioritising cybersecurity improvements based on the findings.
Good to know: On 20 November, Continent 8 and Alea will jointly host a webinar titled “VAPT: iGaming Industry Requirements and Use Cases,” which will outline strategies and best practices for cybersecurity in the gaming industry
Eduard Fumás, Alea Chief Technology Officer, said: “At Alea, security is at the core of everything we do. Our commitment to creating a secure, robust and scalable API solution sets a new standard in the iGaming industry, where data protection and system integrity are critical.”
Continent 8’s VAPT services, offered through its cybersecurity branch C8 Secure, aims to provide a structured approach to detecting vulnerabilities in IT environments.
The VAPT process enables clients like Alea to implement focused measures to mitigate identified risks, aiming to reduce potential security exposure.
The announcement adds to Continent 8’s recent activities within the iGaming sector, including a renewed partnership with Playtech, which has spanned two decades. This extension involves providing managed services to support Playtech’s connectivity and security needs.
