Betfred has officially reopened its headquarters in Warrington after completing a significant refurbishment of the Spectrum building, a project undertaken to modernise the facility and enhance collaboration among its 450 employees.

The multimillion-pound renovation marks a new phase for the bookmaker, aiming to highlight both innovation and its connection to regional roots.

Fred Done, Founder of Betfred, inaugurated the revamped facility on 22 November alongside Sir Lindsay Hoyle, Speaker of the House of Commons and President of the Rugby Football League.

The refurbishment includes several features. The “Nifty 50” studio, home to Betfred’s exclusive lottery game, reportedly offers advanced broadcasting capabilities, while the “Immersion Tunnel” uses digital displays to showcase the company’s sporting heritage and milestones.

Good to know: The Spectrum building, originally a venue for concerts and sporting events, now serves as a 50,000-square-foot hub designed to foster creativity and teamwork

Betfred CEO Joanne Whitaker said: “We’re excited about the possibilities this new headquarters will open up and are looking forward to the journey ahead. Although we are an international company, it was very important to us we remained in the Northwest and close to our roots.”

The project was managed internally by Betfred’s Head of Asset Management, Peter Buckles and involved collaborations with Domis Construction and design firm Jackson Downes. The renovation reportedly preserved the building’s historical significance while incorporating modern infrastructure to support Betfred’s operational needs.

The updated headquarters strengthens Betfred’s regional presence while supporting its international activities. With additional offices in Manchester, Gibraltar, the United States and South Africa, the Warrington hub reportedly serves as a central pillar in the company’s global strategy.
