– Mike Quigley has been appointed as the new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of PrizePicks, a daily fantasy sports operator in North America

He will be responsible for driving the brand’s vision, market strategy, campaign development and overall marketing efforts across the company.

Quigley will report directly to Mike Ybarra, who also recently made the transition from the ‘traditional’ gaming industry to gambling when he was appointed as PrizePicks’ CEO last August.

Ybarra commented: “Mike Quigley is a renowned marketing and gaming executive with tremendous experience in driving player engagement, launching campaign activations and scaling successful brands.

“His deep expertise in digital marketing, combined with his player-first mindset, makes him the ideal leader to help us further elevate the PrizePicks brand and engage our passionate players.”

While Ybarra and Quigley never served in the same companies as one another, they did share a competitive industry together.

Quigley was the VP of Global Marketing at EA Games between 2002 and 2010 as he led campaigns for Bioware in Canada, Dice in Sweden and both Pandemic and EA Redwood Shores in the US.

He would later become the Director of Consumer Marketing at YouTube from 2010 to 2013, before joining Google as the Global Marketing Director.

His most recent position saw him lead Niantic as CMO from 2015, which includes the rise of Niantic’s most popular game, Pokémon Go.

Good to know: Quigley was the VP of Global Marketing while EA released games in franchises such as Medal of Honour, Command & Conquer, Madden NFL, Need for Speed, FIFA Football, Tiger Woods PGA Tour and The Sims 2

On his appointment, Quigley said: “I’m thrilled to join PrizePicks at such an exciting time. I admire their relentless focus on exceeding player expectations and creating experiences that keep players engaged.

“The team’s commitment to deliver fun, innovative gameplay to sports fans is what sets PrizePicks apart and I look forward to working together to amplify those experiences for our players.”
