Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana is set to launch on 13 February 2025, featuring a DraftKings retail sportsbook as part of its sports entertainment offering.

The $270m casino development, located in Bossier City, awaits final regulatory approval from the Louisiana Gaming Control Board.

The sportsbook will be positioned inside Sports & Social, a venue offering live sports broadcasts, betting kiosks and a full-service bar and restaurant. Customers will be able to place bets across various sports leagues, including the NFL, NBA and NCAA events.

John J Chaszar, Executive VP and GM of Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana, said: “With the addition of the DraftKings Sportsbook, we are elevating the experience for sports fans, connecting them to a new level of engagement.”

Good to know: DraftKings has expanded its presence in multiple US sports betting markets, with operations now covering 25 states and Washington DC. The Louisiana launch follows the company’s broader efforts to integrate retail sportsbook locations alongside its digital operations.

Michael Kibort, VP of Product Operations at DraftKings, added: “With a shared commitment to innovation and entertainment, our latest retail sportsbook will deliver a premier sports betting experience just in time for fans to cheer on their favourite college basketball teams during March Madness.”

DraftKings’ latest financial results indicate continued revenue growth alongside increased operational costs. The company reported $1.1bn in Q3 2024 revenue, up 39% year-on-year, while its net loss expanded by $12m to $298.6m. Increased marketing expenses and operational overheads contributed to the overall loss.

With Louisiana’s sports betting industry continuing to expand, the integration of DraftKings at Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana adds another retail location to the market.
