MGM Resorts International and BetMGM have announced an expansion of their responsible gambling initiatives, aiming to strengthen research, treatment and public awareness efforts.
As part of these efforts, MGM Resorts is donating $180,000 to the Kindbridge Research Institute to support studies on sports betting’s impact and the development of responsible gaming strategies.
Additionally, BetMGM is expanding its Kindbridge Behavioural Health referral program nationwide, ensuring players in all operating jurisdictions have direct access to specialised mental health services.
Throughout March, MGM Resorts and BetMGM will also enhance responsible gaming messaging via GameSense, a program developed by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC). Responsible gaming reminders will be integrated into digital platforms and retail sportsbooks, with QR codes directing users to resources.
Additionally, trained GameSense Advisors will be stationed at BetMGM Sportsbooks and MGM Rewards desks to provide assistance.
Good to know: These expanded initiatives coincide with March's designation as Problem Gambling Awareness Month by the National Council on Problem Gambling
MGM Resorts and BetMGM are also engaging with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) to educate law students on the importance of responsible gaming in regulatory and industry practices.
Additional commitments include a $60,000 contribution to State Councils on Problem Gambling and continued training for all MGM Resorts and BetMGM employees on responsible gaming.
