Scientific Games has completed the deployment of its ‘PlayCentral Powered by SCiQ’ self-service terminals at select Iowa Lottery retailers.
The PlayCentral terminals, enhanced with Scientific Games’ SCiQ retail ecosystem, offer instant game inventory management, detailed sales reports and real-time data analytics for both retailers and the Iowa Lottery.
These features aim to modernise the lottery product category and boost the overall player experience.
Currently, more than 14,000 PlayCentral terminals are deployed across 13 North American jurisdictions, with over 8,000 featuring SCiQ technology. Additional rollouts are planned both domestically and internationally throughout 2025.
Beyond player convenience, the terminals also aim to simplify retailers’ management of Iowa Lottery products. The SCiQ system delivers real-time data that enables sales tracking and inventory management, allowing retailers to reduce inefficiencies and ensure product availability.
Good to know: Scientific Games has been partnering with the Iowa Lottery since its inception in 1985. The company currently provides the Iowa Lottery’s gaming system, retail point-of-sale technology, retailer management system, instant scratch games and licensed brands
Commenting on the recent rollout, Mike Cardell, Senior VP, Americas Systems for Scientific Games, stated: “SCiQ is revolutionising how lottery products are managed at retail by delivering both tactical and strategic analytics. We’ve incorporated all of SCiQ’s benefits within our industry-leading PlayCentral self-service machines.
“It’s not only a win-win for the entire retail ecosystem, but for the player experience as well. And we commend the Iowa Lottery for its innovative approach to continually modernise with new technology.”
