The Dutch Gaming Authority (KSA) has concluded its investigation into sports betting tip platform Analyse Master, finding no violations by licensed gambling operators.
Concerns remain over the platform's influence, however, particularly its appeal to young adults who are more vulnerable to gambling addiction.
The investigation was prompted by a report from journalistic platform Pointer in the fall of 2024 which highlighted Analyse Master’s use of role models and its Telegram channel to provide sports betting tips and refer users to gambling providers.
As Dutch law prohibits gambling advertisements featuring role models, the KSA examined whether licensed operators had engaged in unlawful promotions through the platform.
Two gambling licence holders were linked to Analyse Master’s Telegram channel. One company had an active collaboration but ended the partnership upon discovering the use of role models. The other had purchased advertising space without direct collaboration and subsequently ceased advertising on the channel due to its association with young audiences.
Based on these findings, the KSA determined that neither operator had violated regulations.
Good to know: Because Analyse Master itself is not a licensed gambling provider, KSA currently lacks the authority to take enforcement action against it
Despite the absence of legal infractions, the KSA remains concerned about third-party platforms like Analyse Master, which promote sports betting to young audiences outside of regulatory oversight.
Regarding these concerns, Michel Groothuizen, Chairman of the KSA Board, stated: “The current advertising bans apply specifically to gambling providers, and not to third parties such as Analyse Master.
“The fact that there are channels on social media that promote sports betting among young adults is a very undesirable and worrying development because young adults are vulnerable and susceptible to gambling addiction.”
This investigation follows other recent enforcement actions by the KSA, including operations against illegal poker tournaments across the Netherlands which resulted in multiple raids and the seizure of tens of thousands of euros.
