Key points:
- PrizePicks is the first fantasy sports operator to receive iCAP certification from the NCPG
- The accreditation recognises PrizePicks’ responsible gaming policies, staff training and consumer protection efforts
PrizePicks has become the first company in the industry to receive Internet Compliance Assessment Program (iCAP) accreditation from the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) – a certification that marks the company’s commitment to responsible gaming and consumer protection.
iCAP accreditation is a process that assesses an operator’s responsible gaming policies, staff training, consumer protection measures and regulatory compliance.
The independent evaluation ensures that certified operators meet the Internet Responsible Gaming (IRG) standards, incorporating best practices from jurisdictions worldwide.
Commenting on the achievement, Mike Ybarra, CEO of PrizePicks, stated: "This certification is a powerful recognition of the culture we've built at PrizePicks, and an incredible honour that underscores our unwavering commitment to putting player safety first.
"I want to extend my sincere thanks to the NCPG for their thorough evaluation, and to our exceptional team for setting the bar as an industry leader in responsible gaming."
Good to know: To support its responsible gaming efforts, PrizePicks collaborates with organisations such as Kindbridge Behavioral Health, Socure, Epic Global Solutions, Xpoint and IC360
Jaime D. Costello, Director of Programs at the NCPG, added: "We are proud to recognise PrizePicks as the first daily fantasy sports operator to receive iCAP accreditation.
"This achievement highlights their unwavering commitment to player protection and promoting positive play, setting a new benchmark for excellence in the industry."
This certification comes amid recent leadership developments at PrizePicks, including the February appointment of Mike Quigley – a former executive at EA Games, YouTube and Niantic – as Chief Marketing Officer.
