Key points:
- The MGA has stated that it has no official connection with any of the URLs on the list
- This means that the online casinos are not licensed by the Authority in any manner
- Unlicensed casinos are dangerous for customers as there is limited scope for regulators to step in if there’s a problem
The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has listed 17 URLs relating to God55's online casino as unauthorised.
This brand seems to be aimed at customers in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam and touts itself as “the most trusted online casino in Asia”.
The God55 websites claim the company is licensed by the MGA and PAGCOR, although they use outdated logos and there are no links to certificates.
As such, the MGA has called this “false and misleading” as it attempts to dupe customers into thinking that God55 platforms are regulated.
Good to know: God55 also claims that Mike Tyson is a brand ambassador and uses its YouTube channel to advertise potentially unlicensed streams of shows on its sites
On the God55 YouTube channel, it lists the site owners as being based in Russia.
The MGA emphasised in its statement: “The MGA would like to remind consumers not to utilise services provided by an entity unless they have ascertained that the entity in question is authorised to provide such services by the MGA.
“The gaming regulatory framework obliges authorised persons to comply with strict legal requirements in the interest of consumers.
“The activities of unlicensed entities are unregulated and do not provide the necessary safeguards delineated by virtue of the framework, making transactions with such entities risky for consumers.”
Speaking of the professional boxer, Mike Tyson got into trouble just after his fight with Jake Paul when affiliate Medier claimed he broke his contract terms.
