Lottery.com has appointed British actor and producer Tamer Hassan as President of Sports.com Studios, a newly created division that will develop and distribute sports-themed films, docuseries and digital content.

Hassan has sat on the company’s board since June 2023 and brings more than 25 years of film and television experience.

Matthew McGahan, Lottery.com Chairman and CEO, said: “Tamer is a force of nature – his experience, storytelling instincts and deep connection to the world of sport make him uniquely suited to lead Sports.com Studios.”

Hassan will oversee creative direction, project financing and distribution strategy for the studio’s initial slate.

Early projects in pre-production include a documentary series on the acquisition and revival of a British football club and behind-the-scenes features with elite athletes.

Good to know: On 12 June Lottery.com agreed to acquire 90% of Dubai-based sports incubator Nook Holdings for $2.5m

Hassan commented: “I’ve always believed in the power of sport and film to unite, inspire and tell real human stories. As President of Sports.com Studios, I’m excited to bring those worlds together and produce original, emotional and authentic content for fans across the globe.”

Earlier this year, Lottery.com outlined plans for additional Sports.com locations in Al Quoz, Riyadh, Jeddah, Abu Dhabi and Greater Miami, positioning the brand as a multi-vertical sports platform.

Sports.com Studios will operate as a separate division within Lottery.com and report directly to McGahan.

Production timelines for the first releases have not yet been disclosed, but the company said further project announcements are expected in the coming months.
