IGT signs eight-year agreement with Atlantic Lottery for new central system deployment

Key points:

– IGT signs eight-year contract with Atlantic Lottery to roll out IntelligenEVO system

– The deal covers all four Atlantic provinces and includes options for future extensions

– Atlantic Lottery will be the first WLA operator to implement IntelligenEVO in a G2S market

International Game Technology (IGT) has secured a multi-year agreement with Atlantic Lottery to supply its IntelligenEVO video lottery central system, marking the first deployment of the next-generation platform by a World Lottery Association (WLA) member in a game-to-system (G2S) distributed market.

The eight-year contract, signed through IGT’s Canadian subsidiary, includes the option for multiple renewals and will cover video lottery terminals across all four Atlantic provinces.

The rollout is intended to support real-time data capture, advanced analytics and player-focused features, according to statements from both organisations.

Michael MacKinnon, VP of Product at Atlantic Lottery, said the system would help the operator maximise future contributions to good causes while ensuring high standards of security and player satisfaction.

IGT Canada SVP David Flinn described IntelligenEVO as a scalable solution informed by decades of operational feedback.

Flinn added: “We look forward to helping the Lottery achieve its growth and player engagement goals.”

Good to know: Atlantic Lottery is a government-owned operator serving New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island

In Q1 2025, IGT reported a 12% year-on-year revenue decline to $583m and a 93% fall in income from continuing operations, down to $8m. The company attributed the drop to rebranding costs and lower jackpot activity in the US.

Despite recent earnings pressure, IGT has continued to invest in digital and infrastructure projects. In March, it secured a €1bn ($1.1bn) loan ahead of the upcoming Italian Lottery licence tender, with €500m earmarked specifically for that bid.

The firm also received an iCAP Ready certificate from the National Council on Problem Gambling in Q1.

The deployment of IntelligenEVO is part of IGT’s broader plan to modernise lottery and gaming networks across global regulated markets, with a focus on cloud-based tools, security and responsible gaming.
