Key points:
- Four Flagman Casino domains have been blocked in Lithuania
- This brings the total to 1,910
The Gaming Control Authority under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania (Control Authority) has blacklisted more domains, requesting that internet service providers (ISPs) in the nation block their access for citizens.
With the blacklist now reaching 1,910 domains, the latest domains to be added to the list were found to be operating without a local licence. Under the Gaming Law of the Republic of Lithuania, the Control Authority is authorised to take measures to remove these operators, which include payment blocking and DNS blocking among others.
The domains added to the blacklist on Thursday 3 July were flagman.casino, flagman-casino1.com, flagmancasino16.com, flagmancasino17.com and flagmancasino18.com, all of which were operated by GALAKTIKA N.V.
Other domains on the blacklist include unibet.com, williamhill.com, pokerstars.eu, bet365.com and more, with the majority of regional variations of these domains also blocked in the nation.
Good to know: Betsson recently introduced its flagship brand in Lithuania, replacing Betsafe
The move comes as the nation begins the process of banning gambling advertising in the nation – a decision that was first made in November – with the full ban expected to be implemented in 2028.
The first phase of bans will see betting ads on tv, radio and online limited to 15 seconds with only a limited number of hourly plays allowed, with online ads banned from linking directly to betting sites.
