Brendan Jeacocks appointed South African Director for Altenar

Key points:

– Brendan Jeacocks will join the company as Regional Director for South Africa

– The sportsbook and iGaming software provider is seeking to drive growth in the country and wider continent

– It was awarded National Manufacturer License by Western Cape Gambling and Racing in December 2024

Altenar’s expansion in the South African Market continues apace with the supplier’s appointment of Brendon Jeacocks as Regional Director.

The appointment comes after the award of the company’s National Manufacturer licence from the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board in December 2024.

Receipt of that certification qualifies Altenar to supply its sportsbook technology to licensed operators in the province.

The sportsbook and iGaming software provider already has a presence in the country as a data provider, as well as with its sports offering and mobile app.

It has demonstrated an interest in growing via multiple verticals and jurisdictions.

To that end, in Spring 2025, it received certification to bring its virtual sports and remote gaming server offerings to the burgeoning Brazilian market.

Jeacocks, with his first statement from his new position, has confirmed the company’s big ambitions across not just South Africa, but the wider continent, saying: “I’m pleased to be joining Altenar at such an exciting time for the company’s ambitions in Africa.”

Jeacocks brings with him over eight years experience of the online gaming industry, principally working in finance, regulation and compliance.

Before starting this new role, he was Financial Manager at African operator Sportpesa.

John Quaye, CFO at Altenar, said of the new hire: “His expertise in the market will undoubtedly help us achieve strong growth in our first year as a licensed provider in the country.”
