– Deployment marks another milestone in the long-standing partnership between the two organisation
The Georgia Lottery Corporation has deployed Scientific Games’ SCiQ retail technology across 1,500 locations, in what it describes as a major step towards modernising the sale and management of instant scratch games.
The SCiQ ecosystem is designed to improve operational efficiency for retailers while offering players a more streamlined purchasing process. The initiative expands on the Lottery’s partnership with Scientific Games, which dates back to its launch in 1993.
Over the years, the collaboration has included the introduction of the Lottery’s first scratch game, its first second-chance promotion and the upcoming launch of its loyalty programme.
Gretchen Corbin, President and CEO of the Georgia Lottery Corporation, said: “Retail environments are evolving and the Georgia Lottery is proud to lead with smart technology solutions that align with how today’s consumers want to shop. SCiQ brings a modern retail presence to our instant games, helps our retailers operate more efficiently and ultimately supports our mission to maximise revenues for the HOPE Scholarship and Georgia Pre-K programme.”
Good to know: Scientific Games recently launched its AI-powered recommendation tool, GameChoice, which generated $9.8m in sales in its first month and aims to drive broader player engagement across lottery products
The SCiQ platform provides a range of features, including real-time inventory tracking to reduce out-of-stocks, advanced sales analytics, digital menu boards displaying up-to-date information and secure dispensing bins that reduce theft while providing detailed transaction tracking.
The system has received recognition, winning a Gold Award at the 2025 American Business Awards and a Bronze Award at the 2025 International Business Awards.
John Schulz, Scientific Games’ President of the Americas, commented: “We are especially proud to bring the benefits of SCiQ to our home state. The Georgia Lottery has always been a forward-thinking partner and this retail modernisation initiative is another move to ensure future growth for its instant game business.”
Georgia currently ranks second globally for scratch game sales per capita, according to La Fleur’s 2025 World Almanac. The Lottery is also part of Scientific Games’ Enhanced Partnership (SGEP) programme, used by more than 20 lotteries worldwide, which the company reports delivered 31% better performance for its US partners in fiscal year 2023–24.
Scientific Games, which supplies more than 150 lotteries across 50 countries, has recently expanded its technology footprint internationally, including securing a supplier licence in the UAE earlier this year.
