The Racing Partnership expands greyhound offerings

The fixtures are to be run at 12 different greyhound tracks around the UK with all the events scheduled to be filmed for TRP’s television channel, through a deal made with the Bookmaker Technology Consortium and the Arena Racing Company.

The 12 greyhound tracks include Belle Vue, Kinsley, Newcastle, Nottingham, Perry Barr, Peterborough, Poole, Sheffield, Sunderland, Swindon, Towcester and Yarmouth.

ARC’s Director of Media Technology and Production and Director of The Racing Partnership, Mark Kingston said: “We are delighted to have put together a fixture list based on greyhound racing from long established tracks with a proven record of integrity and welfare.”

Currently there are an estimated 1,500 shops that televise TRP’s TV channel. The inclusion of these 12 greyhound tracks will help cement the future of the sport as well as adding a boost to the revenues of the Racing Partnership. The TRP will also be broadcasting from 13 Arena Race Courses from the start of 2018, taking the group’s total to 22 UK racecourses currently in their partnership.

Kingston added: ”We have published the fixture list now to allow bookmakers to plan at a time of great uncertainty, and to protect the value of over-the-counter business in their shops. Similarly, online and international bookmakers will be able to plan on the basis that these tried and tested greyhound tracks will be available as part of the services they supply to their customers.”

The deal will see The Racing Partnership begin televising the greyhound races on 1 January 2018.
