The app uses DraftKings’ in-house technology and will feature games only found in the operator’s games suite, in addition to traditional games such as Blackjack and Roulette.
The DraftKings casino app has been embedded within the DraftKings sportsbook app in the Garden State since 2018, but this will be the first time the casino app will be separate.
Jason March, vice president of gaming at DraftKings, said: “We are thrilled to break new ground for DraftKings in the gaming space today with the launch of our DraftKings Casino app, the company's first perennial product that operates year-round irrespective of the annual sports schedules.
“Following our debut in the Garden State, we look forward to continued innovation, nationwide expansion where regulations allow, and to further positioning DraftKings as an all-inclusive gaming and entertainment experience.”
According to figures released by the New Jersey Department of Gaming Enforcement, online casinos generated gaming revenue of $85.9m for the month of May, a rise of 129% year-on-year.
Despite this, overall revenue for the month was down 65% from $276.8m in May 2019, partly as a result of land-based casino and sportsbook closures.
