Jordan has taken an equity interest in the operator in exchange for "providing guidance and strategic advice on key business initiatives."

Jordan's status as special advisor is effective immediately, meaning he is free to advise on "strategic and creative input."

DraftKings CEO Jason Robins, who mentioned Jordan in his upcoming US CEO Special interview with Gaming America, said: “Michael Jordan is among the most important figures in sports and culture, who forever redefined the modern athlete and entrepreneur.

"The strategic counsel and business acumen Michael brings to our board is invaluable, and I am excited to have him join our team.”
