The New Saints FC partners with Gamstop for Self-Exclusion Day
The collaboration saw players wearing custom-made Gamstop warm-up shirts before the game to highlight the campaign.
The New Saints FC, 16-time JD Cymru Premier champions, collaborated with Gamstop to support Self-Exclusion Day on 14 September.
The partnership aimed to promote responsible gambling and raise awareness about self-exclusion tools.
For their JD Cymru Premier match against Barry Town United (which ended in a 4-0 victory) The New Saints donated their match-day sponsorship slot to Gamstop.
This saw players wearing custom-made Gamstop warm-up shirts before the game to highlight the campaign.
The club also promoted the initiative through its matchday programme and social media platforms.
Beyond the match, Gamstop – in partnership with Addiction Recovery Agency (ARA) – plans to deliver training sessions to The New Saints Academy.
These sessions will educate young athletes about gambling risks, how to identify and support problem gamblers, and the utility of self-exclusion tools.
Commenting on the deal, Gamstop CEO Fiona Palmer stated: “The level of support The New Saints provided for Self-Exclusion Day has been above and beyond.
“Football clubs play a key role in shaping their communities, and it’s fantastic to see TNS take such a proactive stance in supporting individuals who may be struggling with gambling harm. Together, we can ensure that support is available for those who need it.”

“As a club, we are always looking for ways to support our players, fans and the wider community. This partnership is a crucial step in continuing that mission.”
The overarching initiative, dubbed #TakeBackControl2024, saw participation from clubs across all four English leagues, including Premier League teams like Crystal Palace.
