Aristocrat and Studio City Macau set up Dragon Zone to celebrate Golden Week

This Golden Week’s celebration saw Melco’s Studio City Macau team up with gaming supplier Aristocrat, setting up a dragon-themed installation at Studio City casino.

According to Macau news media, the Dragon Zone installation featured Aristocrat’s Dragon Link game and a few newly-released titles such as Bao Zhu Zhao Fu Red Festival and Blue Festival. The installation was inspired by the art of Chinese papercraft, offering “a blend of an indoor gaming environment with the natural beauty of the outdoors, reflecting the seasonality, colours and textures of Asia.”

The Dragon Zone would be accessible to all players visiting Studio City during the October Golden Week.

“What we’ve developed together is a blend of creativity, strategic thinking and differentiation,” said Emily Schmitt, Vice President of International Marketing at Aristocrat Gaming.

Studio City’s Senior Vice President, Kevin Benning, described the zone as “an exclusive and engaging environment that sets us apart in the market, complete with popular Aristocrat games.”

Aristocrat’s Dragon Link has also been at the centre of a preliminary injunction case this week, with the supplier placing a preliminary injunction against Light & Wonder for its game Dragon Train, which the supplier feels has infringed on its intellectual property.

Aside from Studio City’s Dragon Zone, October would also see Macau’s 14th Oktoberfest, hosted by MGM China. The bierfest would include genuine Löwenbräu and performances by the Högl Fun Band from Munich.

Of Melco’s updates, the company recently hosted a tourism roadshow at its City of Dreams Mediterranean in Cyprus to promote Macau’s status as a “travel, leisure, and business destination.”
