Pauline Hot appointed ANJ Director General

L’Autorité Nationale des Jeux (ANJ), the French gaming regulator, has appointed Pauline Hot as its new Director General.
Hot has been an auditor since 2020, later becoming a Master of Requests at the Council of State. Specifically, she reported to the 6th Chamber of the Litigation Section and in the Administration Section.
She was first appointed to the ANJ as Deputy Director General in January. Now, she will take on a more senior position with the regulator.
The announcement comes soon after the regulator released its 2024 annual report, which outlined plans by the ANJ to curb excess gambling as well as statistics on illegal gaming bans.

In total, the regulator reported nine sanctions and 1,335 URL bans in 2024, the sanctions of which were as high as €150,000 ($174,400).
On tackling problem gaming, ANJ Chair Isabelle Falque-Pierrotin said: “The objective of reducing excessive gambling set by the ANJ must now be translated into an obligation of results that involves reducing the number of excessive gamblers and their contribution to the revenues of gambling operators.”
