Mindway AI partners with Crown Resorts for GameScanner integration

Crown Resorts has partnered with Mindway AI to integrate new player protection tools into the Australian casino’s operations.  

GameScanner is an AI solution trained to spot problem gaming behaviours, implementing preventative and well-being measures among guests. The AI has been trained by researchers, psychologists and experts in the field, and marks the largest integration of the technology yet.  

Currently, GameScanner reaches 12.8 million players in 64 jurisdictions monthly.

On the partnership, Crown PlaySafe Group EGM Dr Jamie Wiebe said: “The introduction of this technology at Crown is yet another example of our commitment to continuous safety improvements and harm minimisation. 

“This will greatly assist in identifying risks and preventing harms from occurring in the first place, which is a major focus for us at Crown. In collaboration with our Crown PlaySafe initiatives, technology plays a critical role in helping us provide a safe environment and uphold our industry-leading standards for our guests.”    

Good to know: The move comes as Crown Resorts attempts to realign its responsible gaming efforts, having been fined AU$450m (US$294m) in May 2023 for AML/ CTF failings
