Better Collective acquires “two strong Dutch brands”
Better Collective, one of the biggest affiliates in iGaming and sports beting, has announced the purchase of Soccernews.nl and Voetbalwedden.nl.
Soccernews is an online sports media and Voetbalwedden represents an online sports betting community; according to data, together, the sites attract over 2.5 million monthly visitors.
As the Dutch “Remote Gambling Act” is scheduled to come into effect on 1 October 2021, the online gambling market in the Netherlands will be fully regulated and will not operate as a state monopoly anymore.
Therefore, these acquisitions represent a strategic move that is expected to increase Better Collective’s revenue for 2022 to over €3m ($3.5m); the group will be able to take advantage of the Dutch market opportunity from day one and it will have a gaining position (as the 2022 market awaits the arrival of international sports betting operators).
In charge of managing Dutch operations, Better Collective has hired Joris Dekkers as Managing Director. Using his 10 years of experience in the iGaming industry, Dekker has supported the company’s preparations for the market opening while working both on the media and the operator side.
