The operators says it has always been committed to making the adjustments necessary for attributing to the channelisation objectives of the regulator, as well as putting itself in a good position for the Dutch licensing process.
Pontus Lindwall, outgoing CEO and President of Betsson AB, commented: "Compliance with laws, rules and ethical standards in the countries in which we operate is a foundation for Betsson. We have a strong belief in the Dutch market, and we have a clear ambition to operate under the new Dutch regulatory framework in the future, making us able to yet again offer Dutch customers an outstanding and sustainable customer experience.”
Kindred Group has also taken the decision to cease any services towards Dutch users, as the group is aiming to receive approval of its Dutch licence. The decision is said to be temporary since, according to Kindred, the letter from Minister Sander Dekker does not explicitly request operators to cease services on the Dutch market as long as the criteria published in 2019 are followed.
As the group awaits further clarification, its CEO, Henrik Tjärnström, argued: “We look forward to receiving our Dutch licence during 2022, and thereby positively contribute to the Dutch society as a valued expert in achieving a sustainable gambling market. We have always put a safe gambling environment at the very core of our strategy and operations, and already now comply as much as possible with all Dutch licence requirements.”
