In a multi-year partnership, New York-based Tappp will integrate its interactive transaction platform into every MLR game broadcast through TRN. Branded as Tappp Portal, customers are able to sign into their account, deposit and withdraw funds, place bets and watch the match concurrently.
Sandy Agarwal, Founder and CEO, Tappp, commented: “We couldn't be more excited about this partnership with the MLR and TRN. The synergies between Tappp and the MLR make this the perfect opportunity to launch our revolutionary new product.
“We believe rugby fans will have a lot of fun using the Tappp Portal and will soon feel even more connected to the teams and players they love and to the great game of rugby.”
Tappp’s patent-pending technology is available through its sports betting partners, such as BetMGM, and in all US states where sports betting has been legalised. For viewers in states where sports betting isn’t legal, Tappp’s free-to-play equivalent will be launched.
George Killebrew, Commissioner, MLR, said: “We are always looking for innovative ways to continue to grow new audiences and keep current fans more deeply engaged throughout the entire season and Tappp’s technology will help us do exactly that.
“We're excited about the future with Tappp, as we usher in a new era of interactivity with MLR fans.”
For the MLR and TRN, the agreement presents an opportunity to increase viewership and profitability among customers.
