Playstudios has forged a new collaboration with IHG Hotels & Resorts to further expand its rewards offering.

Players can now exchange PlayAwards loyalty points earned during free gameplay for discounted stays across IHG’s entire portfolio.

This covers more than 6,000 hotel destinations worldwide, covering 17 brands such as InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants and Holiday Inn.

Specifically, Playstudios’ new rewards include 15% discounts for players when they book a stay at an IHG hotel, among other offers. However, players must also be a member of IHG’s One Rewards loyalty programme to redeem a discount.

“This is an unprecedented expansion, the largest in the history of our PlayAwards loyalty marketing platform, and we’re doing it with an amazing collaborator,” said Playstudios Founder, Chairman and CEO Andrew Pascal.

In recent months, Playstudios has collaborated with other companies to expand its rewards selection. These include a partnership with Big Bus Tours in June, offering players a chance to win discounted tickets for Las Vegas bus tours.

Meanwhile, May saw Playstudios add Lighthouse Immersive to its roster of rewards partners, specifically for an experience centred around famous Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh.

But regarding PlayAwards’ most recent addition, Pascal continued: “IHG Hotels & Resorts offers one of the most celebrated and diverse destination portfolios in the world.

“Giving our players the ability to use their PlayAwards points to create the getaway experience of their dreams is a gamechanger – pun intended.”

In other news, Playstudios recently reported $68.4m in second quarter revenue, down from $70.8m year-on-year.
