According to the police, they have so far arrested 41 suspects and seized Rs 4.98 lakh ($6,000) in cash, mobile phones and casino coins.

They provided more information about the operation in the Northeast Delhi district and said it was a satta in the style of a casino (betting syndicate). In addition to the Rs 4.98 lakh in cash, they also reported seizing 46 mobile phones and 2,800 casino coins from the location.

Police devised a plan to arrest the accused after receiving information that casino-style gambling was taking place in the Jyoti Nagar neighbourhood under the pretext of a birthday party.

Harman Palace's fifth floor was the target of a joint raid by the Anti-Auto Theft Squad (AATS), Northeast and Jyoti Nagar police.

Although the security personnel claimed there was a birthday celebration going on when the police questioned them, it was discovered during the raid that this was, in actuality, a casino.

Following this, the accused was handed over to the local police for further investigation.

Recently, three people were arrested for allegedly scamming online gamers across the country through illegal pre-hosted gaming websites.

Police said the accused were duping people by luring them to place bets on online games such as snooker, casino, cricket, poker and Teen Patti on fake gaming websites.

The victims were initially paid small amounts to prove the authenticity of the gaming website and to gain trust.
