Across a variety of gaming industries, Konami maintains a substantial portfolio of intellectual property.

During G2E 2019, Konami debuted its Synk Vision facial recognition add-on module for Synkros, which carries out the technology outlined in these face recognition patents.

Instead of using a conventional magnetic player card, Synk Vision allows players to sign into the Synkros player loyalty system at EGMs and Table Games by sitting down in the chair in front of the EGM or a table games seat.

The most recent contract signed by Konami to make its technology available to more players and properties globally is a licensing agreement with Australia-based Independent Gaming.

Lawrence Shepherd, Independent Gaming MD, said: “Independent Gaming is pleased to have reached an agreement with a great company such as Konami. Our IP agreement for facial recognition use in all our NextNet gaming systems continues the advancement of our technology.

"The benefits of biometrics within our player systems produce many possibilities for player functions and operators to ensure our gaming customers have decisive access to key facial recognition solutions.”

Tom Jingoli, EVP & COO at Konami Gaming, said: “As Konami continues to invest in future innovation, we are excited for the opportunity to make our facial recognition intellectual property available to operators across diverse global markets in different forms.”

Recently, a partnership between Konami Gaming and Caesars Sportsbook & Casino in New Jersey and Michigan was confirmed.

Through this collaboration, the complete Konami library of online games will be accessible to all Caesars Digital-owned and -operated real money websites.
