Kristina Geiger has been appointed as the new Head of Department for Operational Support at Spelinspektionen (the Swedish Gambling Authority, SGA).
Geiger will commence her duties with the Swedish gaming regulator on 7 August 2023.
Prior to being appointed to the role at the Swedish Gambling Authority, Geiger worked at the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History as Financial Manager from 2021.
Before that, Geiger previously worked at the Stockholm County Health Care Area from 2019-2021 as Administration Manager.
Previously, Geiger had also worked at The Swedish Competition Authority, as an Administrative Manager from 2010-2017.
In her new position, Geiger will be part of the Spelinspektionen’s management team. She will aim to leverage her experience in management positions to help the SGA improve its operations.
As of late, the SGA investigated the potential to base penalty fees off of gross gaming revenue rather than gross turnover. The SGA has also recently given B2B supplier licences to Relax Gaming, Yggdrasil, Wazdan and Blueprint Gaming for them to service operators in Sweden. Air Dice also received a Swedish licence.
Commenting on her appointment, the new Head of Department for Operational Support at Spelinspektionen, Geiger said: “I am looking forward to starting at the Gambling Inspectorate in view of the authority's important mission and having been trusted to lead the department for operational support.”
Camilla Rosenberg, Director General at the Spelinspektionen, said: “We welcome Kristina to us! With her, we get an experienced leader with the habit of driving change.”
