MGM National Harbor Hotel & Casino in Maryland's parking ambassadors unanimously decided to join Teamsters Local 639.
Bill Davis, President of Local 639 in Washington DC, said: "Congratulations to the MGM National Harbor Hotel & Casino workers on their successful organising victory.
"These workers provide exceptional service to casino visitors and play a pivotal role in MGM's daily operations. We look forward to helping them secure their first Teamster contract."
Steve Williams, Parking Ambassador at MGM National Harbor Hotel & Casino, said: "We provide a key service for visitors at MGM National Harbor and deserve to be compensated fairly.
"I know that Teamsters Local 639 will hold management accountable and help us get the respect, improved working conditions and decent wages we need to provide for our families. We can't wait to start working on our first collective bargaining agreement."
In Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia since 1934, Teamsters Local 639 has been a representative for workers in a wide range of businesses.
MGM Resorts recently released its Q1 report, reporting that it generated $501m in casino revenue – a 5% increase from Q1 2022.
For its resorts along the Las Vegas Strip, adjusted property EBITDA increased by 41% yearly to $836m. Meanwhile, the company reported consolidated adjusted EBITDA of $1.1bn across all its subsidiaries.
Additionally, MGM reported $2.2bn in net revenue for its Strip reporting, an increase of 31% from 2022.
